Fire, safety & alarm systems

Sprinkler systems fully drained and disarmed throughout the treatment zone
Heat detectors disarmed or isolated in all rooms being treated
Smoke detectors disarmed or covered to prevent false alarms
WiFi, smart or monitored alarm systems that trigger on heat or smoke disabled

Clothing & textiles

Hang as much clothing as possible on clothes rails in the largest room
Leave space between garments so heat can circulate around sleeves, collars and folds
Open wardrobes and drawers slightly so warm air can flow inside
Do not seal clothing in plastic bags — it needs to be exposed to the heat
Remove any items you are worried about, even though most fabrics are safe

Remove from the property

Pressurised aerosol cans (deodorants, hairspray, cleaning sprays)
Wax candles and wax-based products
Oil paintings and delicate artwork
Live houseplants and fresh-cut flowers
Perishable food, chocolate, soft cheese and temperature-sensitive items
Pets — cats, dogs, rabbits, fish, reptiles and birds out for the day
Makeup, medicines and toiletries that may melt
Valuable or delicate items you are concerned about

Leave in place

Beds, mattresses and upholstered furniture
Rugs and carpets (we will heat-treat them in place)
Wardrobes and chests of drawers
Everyday electronics such as TVs and laptops (unplugged is fine)
Books and paperwork

Access & the day before

Arrange parking close to the front door for our equipment
Hand over a key or arrange for someone to meet us
Let neighbours know if you live in a flat or apartment block
Block out 4–6 hours for the treatment and cool-down
Plan to be out of the treated rooms during the heat cycle

Disclaimer & agreement

I confirm that I have read and completed the moth heat treatment preparation instructions above to the best of my ability. I understand that Extreme Heat To Kill Bed Bugs will carry out a chemical-free heat treatment at the address provided, and that internal temperatures will reach levels capable of damaging heat-sensitive items (including but not limited to wax candles, aerosols, vinyl, certain plastics, oil paintings, live plants, pets and some medications). I understand that IKEA furniture, flat-pack furniture and other laminated or veneered items are heat-sensitive, and the laminate edging or trim may soften, lift or unstick during treatment. I confirm that all such items have been removed from the treatment area and accept full responsibility for any items left in the property. I agree to provide safe access for the duration of the treatment (typically 4–6 hours) and confirm the information I have given is accurate. I also understand that the 6-month guarantee is void if the infestation is proven to be re-entering from a neighbouring property, and that no refund will be given in those circumstances.
